Problem Statement :

Chronicle helps users remix content into beautiful slides quickly. But users tell us: even after the first draft, they spend significant time editing — adjusting tone, fixing visual hierarchy, aligning to brand, and polishing the narrative. We believe the solution is an AI “Cursor for Slides” — not just a generator, but a contextual, on‑canvas collaborator that co‑creates, iterates, and learns.

Context & Goal

Chronicle today lets you remix content into polished slides. But the next frontier is:

  • Ingesting context (brief, brand assets, outline) to generate a better first draft.
  • Listening & responding as the user chats (“make slide 3 more data‑driven,” “boost visual hierarchy on my roadmap,” “use our brand voice”).
  • Learning preferences over time to suggest best‑fit templates, color schemes, and storytelling arcs.

Our goal:

Define this next phase of Chronicle — from teardown to roadmap — to make “start from blank” truly mean “start with brilliance.”

Your Task

Produce a 5–6 slide teardown deck that have:

  • Screenshots & teardown (Slide 1)
    • Capture your end‑to‑end flow creating a simple deck today (outline → AI remix → manual polish). Annotate friction points and missed opportunities for an AI cursor.
  • User journey map (Slide 2)
    • Sketch the ideal “Cursor for Slides” journey from zero to first draft, highlighting decision nodes, AI prompts, and hand‑offs.
  • Gap analysis (Slide 3)
    • List the top 4 pain points with severity ratings.
  • Feature spec (Slide 4)
    •  Define 3 core AI‑cursor capabilities. For each, outline inputs, outputs, success metrics, and rough UX flows.
  • Roadmap & metrics (Slide 5)
    •  Propose a 3‑phase delivery plan (initial testing with users → beta → general availability) with key milestones, resource needs, and KPIs.
  • Feedback loop (Slide 6)
    • Design an in‑product feedback route to capture real‑time user sentiment on AI suggestions and guide continuous improvement.

Deliverable

  • A concise 5–6 slide Chronicle teardown deck (visual, clear, and actionable).

Judging Criteria

Submissions will be evaluated on:

  • Depth of teardown – How well do you analyze and articulate friction points?
  • Clarity of user journey – Is the ideal “Cursor for Slides” experience mapped logically and clearly?
  • Practicality of feature specs – Are the proposed features actionable, measurable, and realistic?
  • Roadmap quality – Are milestones phased effectively with clear metrics and resource thinking?

Creativity & insight – Does the teardown go beyond the obvious with fresh, valuable ideas?

Why It Matters

Your teardown will directly inform our AI roadmap — helping Chronicle evolve from a beautiful slide generator into the only presentation tool where “start from blank” means “start with brilliance.
